What is a credit union?
A credit union is a cooperative financial institution, owned and controlled by the people who use its services. Credit unions are not-for-profit and exist to provide a safe, convenient place for members to save money and to get loans at reasonable rates.
Who can join Georgia Heritage FCU?
Anyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school in Chatham, Effingham, or Bryan counties in Georgia and their immediate family members are eligible for membership to the Credit Union.
How much does it cost to join?
Nothing! A minimum deposit of $5 is required to open an account, but should you choose to close your account, the $5 will be returned to you.
How do I join?
You may apply online or in-person at any of our branch offices.
To complete the application process, a copy of your driver’s license/valid government issued ID and a $5 deposit are required.
